HEXIS SUPTAC S5000 – 8-10 years durability
Suptac S5000 is a polymeric cutting vinyl from Hexis, manufactured as a calendered PVC vinyl approximately 75 microns thick with a permanent solvent-based acrylic adhesive. This type of vinyl is one of the most commonly used for signage due to its good balance of durability, flexibility, and cost.
Polymeric vinyl is more stable than monomeric vinyl and shrinks less over time. Additionally, it is more flexible, allowing it to be applied to both flat and slightly curved surfaces. Therefore, it is widely used for general signage work.
Suptac S5000 is easy to cut and weed, even with small letters and details. It is typically used for vinyl lettering, logos, window decorations, signs, and light vehicle graphics.
The vinyl is also well-suited for boat names and registration numbers on leisure boats. However, one should be aware that the durability often becomes shorter than the stated outdoor lifespan. On water, the vinyl is more affected by UV light as the sun's rays hit directly and reflect off the water.
Typical Applications
• signs and panels • window decoration • storefronts • vinyl lettering and logos • simple vehicle graphics • boat names
Advantages
• good outdoor durability • less shrinkage than monomeric vinyl • flexible and easy to apply • suitable for most signage tasks
Disadvantages
• more expensive than monomeric vinyl • not intended for heavy 3D shapes where wrapping vinyl would be a better solution.
